Lynch Mob is an audiovisual funk group, combining the psychedelic funkvibe of the ’70’s with visuals inspired by David Lynch and consorts. Think Funkadelic meets Mulholland Drive, Monophonics meet Lost Highway, Sound Stylistics meets Pulp Fiction or Lettuce meets The Matrix. The band contains drums, bass, keys, gitaar, 4 horns and occasionally vocals. Vincent Caers is not only playing the drums, but programmed the visual aspect and performs it live from behind the kit. The images are inspired on movies that reflect the spirit of the songs, but are manipulated live to combine with the music. The resulting visual aspect oscillates between recognition and abstraction. Throughout the set, songs are connected with dialogues, to create an ongoing experience. The multiple screen setup reinforces this even more.
